The Darvas system is a trading system developed by Nicolas Darvas, a touring ballroom dancer, in the 1950s. What makes his story so appealing is that with no training Darvas, trading from his hotel rooms around the world, and using information that was sometimes a week old was able to turn a $10,000 account into $2,000,000 in 18 months.

His success did not go unnoticed and eventually he wrote two books about the Darvas method which make for great reads but often leave the reader confused as to the exact rules to use in the Darvas trading system.

Over the years interest in the Darvas system has come and gone and a few attempts were made at creating a Darvas software based solution with the most robust being the Darvas Box system from Nirvana Systems that runs on it’s flagship product Omnitrader.
